Bringing ECG expertise to every corner of the UK
Practices with their own 12 lead ECG machines can transmit ECGs to the Broomwell Healthwatch Centre via email or fax. For those using the Broomwell portable ECG device — a lightweight, palm-sized, high-spec unit — recordings can be transmitted either acoustically over the telephone or digitally through a paired smartphone.
Once received, our clinicians provide an immediate verbal interpretation, followed within minutes by a full written report containing expert clinical analysis. The Broomwell device requires no maintenance, no calibration, and no tracing paper — offering both ease of use and cost efficiency.
The transmitted ECG is displayed in real time on-screen at our Manchester-based centre, where our UK-based cardiac clinicians interpret the high-quality trace. Written reports are delivered via email or fax, depending on the practice’s preference, and are fully compatible with all major electronic patient record systems, including EMIS, Vision, Docman, and SystmOne.
Our latest high-spec 12 lead ECG device supports both digital and acoustic transmission to the Broomwell Healthwatch cardiac centre. Despite being one of the world’s smallest ECG machines, it is remarkably powerful, offering high-resolution (16-bit) ECG recording in an ultra-portable, handheld format. It requires no maintenance, no calibration, and no tracing paper — offering both clinical convenience and cost savings.
In digital mode, the device transmits ECG recordings via Bluetooth to a paired smartphone, tablet, or PC, which then forwards the data seamlessly to our centre for immediate expert diagnosis.
All ECG reports are delivered electronically and are fully compatible with leading surgery systems including EMIS, Vision (Docman), and SystmOne, ensuring smooth integration into your existing patient record workflows.
Broomwell Healthwatch interprets over 5,000 ECGs each week for more than 2,000 GP surgeries, medical centres, walk-in clinics, out-of-hours providers, MIUs, and HM prisons across the UK. Feedback from CCGs and surgeries shows exceptional satisfaction, with a reported 100% of practices being either satisfied or very satisfied with the service.
Our clinical governance is overseen by a board of eminent consultant cardiologists, who set and uphold the highest medical standards. All ECGs are interpreted by UK-based cardiac clinicians and registrars with extensive frontline cardiology experience. Rigorous entrance exams, regular refresher training, audits, and reviews ensure clinical excellence. We do not rely on AI or automated systems — only expert human interpretation.
To ensure uninterrupted service, Broomwell Healthwatch operates a highly robust IT infrastructure. All systems, including servers, telephony, and power, are built with multiple layers of redundancy, including replication and triplication, ensuring that our ECG reporting service is consistently reliable for all medical partners.
