2024 Carbon Reduction Plan
Publication date: March 2024. YTD Estimates: as of end of March 2024.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero: Broomwell Healthwatch is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline year emissions:
Baseline Year: 2023
Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS – TOTAL (kgCO2e)
Scope 1 – 5790
Scope 2 – 4050
Scope 3 – 63791
Total Emissions – 73631
Estimated Current Emissions Reporting:
Reporting Year: 2024
EMISSIONS – TOTAL (kgCO2e)
Scope 1 – 1900 ytd, 6000 projected total
Scope 2 – 1350 ytd, 4000 projected total
Scope 3 – 15950 ytd, 63500 projected total
Total Emissions – 19200 ytd, 73500 projected total
Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have already adopted the following carbon reduction measures.
Given business use cases, the increase in business post-pandemic leading to a commensurate increase in staff numbers, and the fact that people who meet our recruiting requirements are often not located within easy commuting distance from the business, we project that it will be difficult to reduce CO2 emissions in the near to medium future.
Consequently, we are looking into UK Woodland Carbon Code credits and Pending Issuance Units, with the target being to offset all current and future carbon emissions.
