Bringing ECG expertise to every corner of the UK
The ECG Loop Event Monitor is designed to detect and capture intermittent arrhythmias, making it ideal for patients who experience occasional or irregular symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, or shortness of breath.
Worn discreetly and comfortably, the device continuously monitors the patient’s heart rhythm for up to seven days. When a symptom occurs, the patient simply presses a button, and the device automatically captures the heart rhythm 30 seconds before and 30 seconds after the event. Alternatively, the patient can use the device in manual mode by placing their thumbs on the built-in touch pads during a cardiac episode, which then records a 30-second trace.
Once up to five events are recorded, the patient returns the device to the surgery. The ECG data is then electronically transmitted to the Broomwell Cardiac Centre, where it is analysed by experienced cardiac clinicians. A same-day report is provided, with urgent cases prioritised for immediate interpretation.
All reports are compatible with major electronic filing systems, including EMIS, SystmOne, Vision, and Docman, ensuring easy integration into your clinical records.
Palpitations and other cardiac symptoms are often sporadic, making them difficult to diagnose in a clinical setting. GPs can now offer patients a loop event recorder for continuous heart rhythm monitoring. The discreet device allows patients to press a button whenever symptoms occur, capturing the heart’s rhythm before and after the event. Once up to five recordings are captured, the device is returned to the surgery and the data is electronically transmitted to the Broomwell Cardiac Centre. Our expert clinicians provide a same-day report, which integrates seamlessly with all major clinical systems, including EMIS, Vision, SystmOne, and Docman.
Ideal for remote use, the event recorder enables convenient at-home monitoring for patients experiencing intermittent cardiac symptoms. The compact device is worn comfortably and monitors continuously. When a symptom is felt, the patient simply presses a button to capture 30 seconds before and after the episode. It can also be used in manual mode via touchpad activation. This flexibility allows for accurate diagnosis from the comfort of home — without the need for surgery or hospital visits.
This user-friendly device is also perfectly suited to screening services and health consultations. Patients can simply place their thumbs on the touchpads to record a heart rhythm sample, which is then transmitted to the Broomwell Cardiac Centre. Our team provides immediate clinical interpretation, making the device an ideal tool for routine cardiac checks in occupational health and private screening environments.
